Happy Halloween! I taught my kids about Halloween on Friday at school. I read them a book that I had brought with me and then talked about some traditions we have. They have Halloween here but it is just beginning to become a popular holiday. We actually had two trick or treaters come to our house!! My mum made me answer the door!
On Friday, I went out to sushi with a few of my Iowa friends. I was under the impression it was going to be the best sushi of my life because of how fresh it was, but it was only mediocre compared to Formosa in Iowa City! Oh well, I’ll try again. Later Friday night I went with my host family and a few of my Iowa friends to Albany to a bar called New Brew. We went to watch Gabby, my host sister, whom lives on her own in Auckland, perform in her band. They played oldies cover music so it was a blast to dance and sing-along with. I met my mums cousin and some of their friends.
Saturday and Sunday we stayed around Auckland, shopping, going to the beaches and visiting the other Iowa girls homestays.
I am going to start my Waterwise Instructor Training this week! I’m going to learn to sail : ) It will be the very basics and only a one person sailboat but I am extremely excited!
